Monster-Mania Con is a semi-annual Philadelphia horror film and memorabilia convention held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill NJ. Monster-Mania 25 was held August 16-18th and featured celebrities appearances from Christopher Lloyd, Carrie, Danny Glover and many more. Guests enjoyed autograph signings, photo ops and endless rows of merchandise from their favorite horror movies and television.
Entomology (the study of bugs) is the theme of this annual festival at the Academy of Natural Sciences. There seemed to be a lot of insect eating this year with the presence of cajun chef Zack Lemann who cooked up and served recipes which featured bugs as the main ingredients. The Fifth Annual 2nd Street Festival was held Sunday, August 4th, 2013 in Northern Liberties. By 3pm the streets were jam-packed from Spring Garden Street all the way to the Piazza at Schmidt’s. Guests enjoyed a full day of workshops, art, food, beer, musical performances and various merchandise vendors. This year’s festival featured four event stages brought to you by the Philadelphia Folksong Society.
